Who we are

Turftenders Landscape ("we", "us") provides landscaping across Salinas and Monterey County, California. This policy explains what our website, turftenderslandscape.com, collects about you and what we do with it.

Frontend Horizon builds and runs this website and the system that receives the requests you send from it. It handles your information only on our behalf.

What you give us

You only give us information when you send one of the two forms on this site.

Quote request

The quick questions on our home page, our contact page and many other pages ask:

whether you are a homeowner, an HOA, a business or a designer
your situation and the service you need
your city
your name
how you would like us to reach you (a call, a text or an email), and the phone number or email address for it
the days and times that suit you for a visit

Consultation booking

The booking form on our Book page asks for:

the service you want
the date and time window you would like
your first and last name
your email address and phone number
your street address and city
any notes you add

What is recorded with a request

When you send either form, we also record:

the page you sent it from, the page you arrived on and when, and the website that sent you here, if any
campaign tags in the link you followed (UTM tags) and ad click ids from Google, Meta or Microsoft, if you arrived from an ad
your device type (phone, tablet or computer), your browser's language and your time zone
your browser's user agent (a line of text naming your browser and operating system) and your IP address
the country your IP address belongs to, which we look up in a database on our own server
your Google Analytics id, when those analytics cookies are present in your browser

We keep a copy of each request, with your IP address and user agent, in our own lead records. Frontend Horizon's content management system stores it too and emails it to us, with a copy to Frontend Horizon.

We also record that a request was sent, using your email address or phone number as the reference. While analytics is on, we link your request to your earlier visits in our visit log (see "Cookies and analytics"), so we can see which pages led to it.

How we use it

We use your information to:

reply to you, give you a quote, schedule a visit and do the work
keep spam out, using automatic checks on what was sent, how it was sent and the country of the IP address
decide which requests to follow up first: the email we receive about a request may include an automatic priority grade worked out from your answers (the grade is not stored)
learn which pages, searches and campaigns bring us requests

If you give us your email address, we may send you a short confirmation that we received your request. Replies to it come to us.

We do not sell your information. This site loads no advertising or remarketing pixels. If we advertise with Google Ads, Google Analytics can tell our Google Ads account which ad clicks led to a request, so we can measure our ads.

Cookies and analytics

Analytics is on by default. You can turn it off at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics starts off. We remember your choice in a cookie named "cookie_consent".

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site: the pages you view, how you got here, your device and browser, your approximate location (which Google works out from your IP address), how fast pages load, and actions such as tapping our phone number or email address, starting a quote and sending a request. It stores cookies whose names start with "_ga".

When analytics is off, Google Analytics sets no new cookies, and Google receives only basic signals without an identifier for your browser. Cookies it set earlier stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland start with Google Analytics off until they turn analytics on. That applies to Google Analytics only: Elevi and our own visit log (below) run for those visitors too until they turn analytics off.

Elevi

We also use Elevi, Frontend Horizon's own analytics tool, to see how visitors use this site: the pages you view, where you click and scroll, which forms you start, how fast pages load, errors, and the ad or website that brought you here. It keeps a random ID in your browser to connect your visits. Elevi is off when you turn analytics off under Cookie preferences or your browser sends Global Privacy Control.

Our own visit log

We also keep our own record of visits to this site: the pages you view, the buttons and links you click, the website that referred you, campaign tags and your device type. To group these, your browser keeps a random visitor id and a session id in its local storage ("fh_a_vid", "fh_a_sid" and "fh_a_sts"). The log does not store your IP address.

The log stops when you turn analytics off with "Cookie preferences", or when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. It cannot tell where you are, so it also runs for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland until they turn analytics off.

How you found us

The site keeps a note in your browser of where your visit came from (the landing page, the website that referred you, and any campaign tags or ad click ids), so that a request you send later can be credited to it. The note is kept for up to 90 days (in local storage, as "attribution_touch"), or only for that visit if analytics is off when you arrive. A later visit from another website, search or campaign replaces it.

Google Maps

Our contact page shows a map from Google Maps. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, under Google's own privacy policy.

Who receives it

Your information is seen by our team and by the service providers that handle it for us:

Frontend Horizon builds, hosts and runs this website and our lead inbox, and stores each request in its content management system, which runs on Supabase.
Supabase hosts the databases that hold our lead records, our email log and our visit log.
Resend delivers the emails Frontend Horizon's content management system sends about your request: the one we receive, Frontend Horizon's copy and any confirmation we send you.
Google provides Google Analytics and the map on our contact page.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to respond to you and for our business records.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Contact us with the details at the top of this page. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights.

You can turn analytics off at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, such as encrypted connections to this website. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee it.

Children

This website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
